I never thought it’s possible to fit 24 children and 4 adults into one car. But yes, we managed. Thursday, the 16th of April we went with most of the kids of the orphanage to a medical centre for getting them vaccinated. On the way up to the medical centre there were ‘only’ 18 kids between the ages of 6 months and 4 years in the car with us 4 adults. The seven smallest babies arrived later with the other tata’s (that’s how the kids call the ladies that work at the orphanage; it basically means ‘auntie’). For the return though it was too late to ask the taxi driver to do two rounds (the other tata’s had already left and taken one of the little girls with them)…
Well, we put the big ones in the back. I took two of the small babies and the teacher too. Between us sat two of the older babies. And at the other side of the teacher were one small baby in a proper baby carrier and an older baby sat on the floor. The third tata, which was sitting next two the driver on the passenger seat, had two small babies in her arms and two of the older ones between her legs on the floor. It was really impressive.
Unfortunately, I didn’t know in advance that on this day we were going to go for the vaccinations and had of course not brought my camera.
